COURSES ON OFFER
Complete Crew Course
This course provides you with all the practical skills and knowledge needed to act as a crew member on a canal boat and includes blocks of activities to help with team-building, physical and mental dexterity and responsibility.
Certificate in Community Boat Management
A comprehensive skipper’s course that gives operators of boats on non-tidal waterways training in boat handling, boat maintenance and the management of group safety and welfare.
Diesel Engine Maintenance
This is a practical, hands on course covering the maintenance and repair of all boat engines. Participants are taught using a problem solving approach which helps to develop thinking skills.
V.H.F. Radio Licence
By obtaining this certificate students learn the phonetic alphabet as well as modern D.S.C. operating procedures. This course covers distress, urgency, safety and routine communications.
Water Safety and Rescue
A short safety course taken in realistic, yet controlled and safe conditions.
After completion, students become increasingly aware of the dangers involved in deliberate or accidental immersion in water.
Digital Arts & Photoshop
Learning to use powerful software to produce and edit photographs, graphics and posters. As a participant on this course you have access to all the latest technology, computers, and integrated software to work on your project.
Internet and Email
Students learn how to access the internet, surf the web and communicate by email.
Introduction to I.T.
An ideal course for first time users who are looking to progress onto other I.T. subjects.
One Day Appointed Person First Aid
This is a course to further your knowledge of First Aid required by most employers.
Child Protection Awareness
This course is for anyone who has contact with children, at home, at work or in the community.
Food Hygiene Certificate
An important course commonly required for working in the food and catering industry.

For participants, these courses can act as the first step towards paid employment, volunteering or further vocational study; the latter being especially important in an area where there is very limited local training provision.
