The Museum tells the story of the Aire and Calder Navigation in Yorkshire, England, and of the origins and development of the Port of Goole. The Museum can cater for school/children's parties of up to 60 people and adult groups of up to 40. The Museum operates five boats: Room 58 An Exhibition and Conference Barge, Sobriety and City of Hull for our residential and day Sails, Opportunity used for training and Telethon Louise with its Goole Docks History Audio Tour.
The Museums Nature Trail explores the ecology surrounding the Waterways. With a viewing platform over a dipping pond and a two hour long canal side walk, a reconstructed Bronze age Board walk and a variety of wild life, this is a must for anybody to see.

Surewaters operate a narrow boat called Pegasus on which families take trips, which generally last about an hour. They have taken children and their families along the Selby Canal at the leisurely pace of 4 mph! Surewaters also offer boat related training courses which aim to increase self confidence, self esteem, communication skills, team working and responsibility for self and others. They also offer various activities to families and various community/voluntary groups and residents of the Selby District. |

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust is an independent grant making body registered with the Charity Commissioners and dedicated exclusively to the regeneration of our coalfield communities. Since its launch in 1999, the Coalfields Regeneration Trust has become a key agency promoting and achieving social and economic regeneration in the coalfield communities of England, Scotland and Wales. The Coalfields Regeneration Trust has fully funded the Waterstart Project since its conception early 2004. |

The Local Network Fund is a programme of the Children and Young Peoples Unit; a cross government initiative set up to coordinate government policy and services for children and young people. The objective of the Local Network Fund for children and young people is to give communities the chance to make that difference. The Local Network Fund is supplying funding for the Creative Crew activities this summer at Waterstart. |
